Protecting Your Child's Ears
A great referral tool for pediatricians and primary care physicians, this brochure helps parents:

  • Recognize noisy situations
  • Determine strategies to prevent hearing loss
  • Identify additional resources and much more

Children can lose their hearing if they are placed in dangerously loud environments - some of which are common situations. Pediatricians can use the brochure to educate parents about the dangers of loud noise, and parents can use the brochure as a reference.

Increase referrals to your practice by distributing brochures to local pediatricians, primary care physicians and community organizations. Help these community leaders teach parents and other caregivers about protecting children's hearing.

Protecting Your Child's Ears answers:

  • Why is hearing important
  • When is it too loud
  • How can I protect my child
  • Where is it too loud
  • Where can I get more information

I like this brochure! This is important and timely information. I think the "how can you protect your child's hearing" section could add : turn the volume down or request that the volume be lowered and get away from the source of the sound. Hearing protection should be used when you can't do either of these. I have used the Dangerous Decibels program with 4th and 5th graders and they really learn a lot. That has been a very rewarding experience for me as a parent and an audiologist! I still cannot bring myself to throw away the thank-you notes I received telling me what they learned.
