At the recent AudiologyNOW! 2012 in Boston, Sonic displayed "out-of-the-box hearing solutions" combining technology, creativity and care. Its latest consumer-inspired product is Flip, a miniature receiver-in-the-canal (miniRIC) device that enhances natural sound quality and promotes better speech understanding.

"AudiologyNOW! provides the largest, broadest and highest quality educational event for audiologists around the world, and we were thrilled to be able to demonstrate and discuss what's new at Sonic," said president and COO Joseph Lugara. "We were extremely pleased with the response that Flip garnered, and the show was an excellent platform to discuss the enhanced quality of life that Flip and other hearing solutions offer for millions around the world with hearing issues."

Flip is designed for active people with hearing loss who are either unhappy with the look and performance of their current hearing device or who previously denied hearing issues for a variety of reasons, such as a concern that wearing a hearing device would make them appear older.

"Far too many people with hearing issues, regardless of age, are living in a denial that ends up making life less enjoyable in the long run," said Lugara. "We strive to deliver convenient solutions that fit into an individual's lifestyle to enhance hearing capability and reverse the stigma associated with hearing loss."
